Elsewhere I graphed (here) how much mobility changes have impacted on worldwide driving thanks to Apple’s data. This time I used Google’s Community Mobility Reports to show how social distancing is changing people’s behaviors in the U.S..
Changes for each day are compared to a baseline value for that day of the week. The baseline is the median value, for the corresponding day of the week, during the 5-week period Jan 3–Feb 6, 2020. These Community Mobility Reports chart movement trends over time by geography, across different categories of places such as retail and recreation, groceries etc.
Google says this information will only be publicly available for a limited time, as long as public health officials find the data valuable.
